VickyI can’t believe I got everyone to participate (OK, some people I just got their permission to write something about) in this Winter Holiday blog! My page is going to have a lot of pictures…I have had a lot of fun and adventures in the past few years. A year ago September my friend Kathy and I visited Arika in London. Once we got over the hurdle of bringing 15 lbs of granola for Arika (I can’t believe how well the airport personnel cooperated with us on this…), we had a fabulous time. Trafalgar Square Arika was our fabulous tour guide (how could she refuse now that she was set for at least a few years with granola?).

Kew Garden Little Venice Neal's Yard

………….Kew Gardens……………………..Little Venice………………………Neal’s Yard………….. In December (2006), Johannes and I hopped a plane and flew to Germany to attend Devin & Tina’s wedding in Hannover. This was a beautiful Christmas wedding. There are more pictures of the wedding on Devin & Tina’s page. The German Christmas markets, though full of “kitsch,” were fun for me – I got a lot of Christmas decorations for this year. We visited Hamburg, Hildesheim (Johannes’s hometown) and Copenhagen.

Hannover Hamburg Christmas Market Copenhagen

……………….Hannover…………………..Hamburg Christmas Market………Copenhagen……………… This was the year for weddings for the Oglesbee family. Erin (Brady’s oldest daughter) married Graham McÇarthy in June. All of their sisters were the bridesmaids. This summer Brady, Miranda (Brady’s youngest daughter) and I had a few adventures together. Most notable was the “bridgewalk” we did with a woman from Portland who knows all about bridges. The highlight of the walk was going down inside one of the bridges and watching it open from underneath.

Hope you have a great holiday and wonderful new year!
